The Sha Tin district is located in the middle of Hong Kong with the most populations of all districts. It covers the Sha Tin New town with numerous public and private housing estates with reasonably priced homes. The Sha Tin area has been developed since the 1970s, transforming it from a rural area to a modern town centers completed with industrial facilities & shopping arcades.
The Hong Kong Science Park and the Chinese University Hong Kong are both located in Sha Tin, along with the Sha Tin Racecrouse.
